People’s Bank, the state banking giant, and winner of the ‘Banking and Financial Services Brand of the Year’ award, at People’s Awards – 2007, will honor 815 employees, who have completed 25 years of service, by offering them gold sovereigns and certificates in appreciation of their long years of service to People’s Bank.
A grand felicitation ceremony will be held on September 23, 2007 at the BMICH with the participation of Mr. W. Karunajeewa, Chairman who will be the Chief Guest for the occasion, and Mr. Asoka de Silva, Chief Executive Officer/General Manager as the Guest of Honor. Members of the corporate and executive management, and the Bank’s trade unions will also be a part of the ceremony.
Each employee will receive a 22-carat gold sovereign, together with a certificate of appreciation. The employees who are thus being felicitated are those who have continuously served People’s Bank for 25 years. Belonging to the Bank’s large network of branches and service centers spread all across Sri Lanka, these employees have formed one of the greatest strengths on which the Bank relies upon for the smooth operation of Bank activities.
This ceremony, usually held to coincide with the anniversary of People’s Bank, is being held for the 21st consecutive year. It is a measure of the high regard with which People’s Bank considers its employees, for their loyalty, dedication and valued service to the Bank, as well as the nation. Their contribution to the Bank in terms of the day-to-day running, decision making processes, evaluation and other activities have made People’s Bank a strong and consistent contender in the ever competitive banking industry.
