Under the proud patronage of People’s Bank Sisu Udana, students from 21 leading city schools recently came forward to paint the Racecourse wall facing Royal College in Colombo. Titled “Abhimanawath Ratak Kara Sisu Bithu Sithuwam”, the project was organized by the Ministry of Defense together with Triadaid in a bid to reflect the patriotism of the Country whilst also combating the issue of wall abuse seen commonly throughout the city. The students were assigned 3 themes under which they presented their paintings, namely how Sri Lanka was united in the past, the affect on Sri Lanka during the war and how they see Sri Lanka to be in the future. The project was in progress between the 4th and the 7th of May 2009 at the end of which prizes were given away to the best presentation.
