TENDER NO : 1543/2010 SALE OF DISCARDED ITEMS
Sealed tenders are hereby invited to dispose debris (glass, aluminium parts, toilet system parts, tube bulb covering plates, wooden parts, air conditioner parts etc.) removed from People’s Bank Head Office building.
Tender document could be obtained uponpayment of Rs 1000/= as a non refundable tender fee & Rs.10000/= as a refundable tender fee from the under mentioned office between 9.00 a.m. and 2.00p.m on working days of the bank from 03/03/2010 to 16/03/2010. If the successful tenderer is not able to remove these items within 10 days (after awarding the tender) non refundable tender fee will not be reimbursed.
The tenderer should offer to remove whole lot of debris except offering to potion of discarded items.
Sealed tenders may be sent by registered post or deposited in the tender box kept at this Department at No 30/101, Kew Road, Colombo 02.Tender will be opened at 2.00p.m.on 17/03/2010 & tenders received after 2.00 p.m. on 17/03/2010 will berejected and returned unopened.
The Bank reserves itself the right of rejecting any or all bids or to cancel the whole tender and the right of accepting any portion of a tender without assigning any reason.
You may inspect the discarded items which are lying at Head Office building, Col -02, with a prior appointment with bank official Mr.O.P.S. Pathirage (Mobile No. 077-3688490) between 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m up to 16-03-2010 on week days. ( Bank working days)
Please consider that as our Head Office building is located within high security zone the successful bidder must have all necessary permit & approval of his vehicles as well as the team involves in such operation, to remove debris within the security zone.

CONSTRUCTION OF PEOPLE’S BANK BRANCH OFFICE
BUILDING AT PILIYANDALA.
The Building Engineer, People’s Bank No.75, Sir Chittampalam A Gardiner Mawatha, Colombo – 02 invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the Construction of People’s Bank branch office building at Piliyandala as described below and estimated to cost Rs.38 Million ( Excluding VAT) .
The project consist of construction of three storied building ( approx. floor area of 6000 Sq.ft.) which comprise of RCC structure and brick masonry infill walls, finishes and services etc. The site situated at 9 & 9/1, Old Road, Mampe, Piliyandala.
The construction period is 210 calendar days.
Bidding will be conducted through National Competitive Bidding Procedure.
To be eligible for contract award the successful bidder shall not have been black listed and shall meet the following requirements.
Registered with the Institute for Construction Training and Development ( ICTAD) for Grade M3/C4 or above in the field of Building Construction.
Qualification requirements to qualify for contract award include,
Average annual volume of construction work performed in the last five years shall be at least Rs.100Million.
Experience in the construction of 3 storied building of at least Rs.35 Million completed within 12 months or a higher valued project within a proportionate time period during last 05 years, for state sector.
The minimum amount of liquid assets and/or credit facilities already approved(After setting apart for other contractual commitments) and exclusive of any advance payments which may be made under this Contract shall be not less than Rs.10Million.
Interested bidders may obtain further information from Building Engineer, Engineering Services Department, People’s Bank, Head Office building, 6th Floor, Sir Chittampalam A. Gardiner Mawatha, Colombo –02 (Tel: 2473206/2481373) and inspect the bidding documents during normal working hours from 10.03.2010 until 30.03.2010.
A complete set of Bidding Documents in English language may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of written application to the Building Engineer at above address from 10.03.2010until 26.03.2010 from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. upon payment of a non refundable fee of Rs.5,000/- in cash.
Sealed Bids shall be deposited in duplicate in the tender box available at the office of the Building Engineer, Engineering Services Dept., 6th Floor, People’s Bank Head Office Bldg., No. 75, Sir Chittampalam A. Gardiner Mawatha, Colombo – 02 or sent by registered post addressed to the Building Engineer, Engineering Services Dept. of the above address to reach him on or before 3.00 p.m. on 31.03.2010. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened soon after closing in the presence of the bidders, representatives who choose to attend.
Bids shall be valid up to 90 days from the date of closing of Bids
All bids shall be accompanied by a Bid-Security of Rupees Four Hundred Thousand (Rs.400,000/-) obtained from a Commercial Bank other than People’s Bank which shall be valid up to 120 days from the date of closing of Bids.
