Under the government programme of strengthening small and medium scale business sectors, People’s Bank opened its first small and medium scale business centre in Anuradhapura recently under the patronage of Hon. Basil Rajapaksa, the Minister of Economic Development.

This centre located at No. 561/61, Mahajana Pola Mawatha, Anuradhapura was opened simultaneously with ‘Dayata Kirula’ National Development Exhibition, will offer loan facilities for Agriculture Based Products, Livestock, Apparel, Fisheries, Tourism, Construction and many more business sectors. Furthermore, it is equipped with a complete library with internet access and auditorium facility. Also, an efficient and friendly consultation service is on offer at the business centre by specially trained staff.

The opening ceremony was graced by the Minister of Telecommunication and Information Technology, Hon. Ranjith Siyabalapitiya, Minister of Agrarian Services and Wildlife, Hon. S.M. Chandrasena, Anuradhapura District Parliamentarian, Hon. Shehan Semasinghe as well as public representatives of the area & government officials and Mr. W Karunajeewa, the Chairman of People’s Bank, Dr. D.J. D. Jayakody, Director of People’s Bank together with the Staff, Corporate & Executive Management of People’s Bank and customers.
