The People's Bank Officers Association hosted the 5th "Abinandana Pranama and Sahurda Pranama" to felicitate the young achievers of the year 5 scholarship, the G.C.E (O/L) and G.C.E. (A/L) examinations among the children of the People's Bank staff. Over 47 children were awarded certificates and cash prizes at a special awards ceremony which was held at the Auditorium of the People's Bank Staff Training College in Colombo. Meanwhile, the immediate family members of seven deceased employees of People's Bank were also presented with cash awards of Rupees Five Hundred thousand each.

The "Abinandana and Sahurda Pranama" ceremony organized by the People's Bank officers association was held with the distinguished patronage of the Chairman of People's Bank - Mr. P. Amarasinghe, the Acting CEO/ General Manager - Mr. T. Karunasena, the Corporate Management Team, Members of the Officers Association and other union representatives. Mr. J.R.P. Suriyapperuma was the guest of honour at the event.
